My Cozy December Bucket List 🎀

A slow, magical & heart-warming winter season

Finally, December is almost here — and tell me I’m not the only one who feels like we go straight from summer sunshine to twinkling lights and cozy sweaters in the blink of an eye?
This time of year always feels special to me. There’s something about the quiet magic, the warm glow from windows, the smell of cinnamon and cold air on your cheeks, and those little traditions that make winter feel soft and meaningful.

I know many of you love this season just as much as I do — the coziness, the nostalgia, the rituals, and the feeling of wanting to slow down and really enjoy it.
So this year, I decided to create a Cozy December Bucket List: simple, joyful things I want to do that bring warmth, comfort, and happiness to my winter days.

If you’re looking for a little inspiration to make your December feel more magical (and less stressful), keep reading ✨
Here are my cozy winter wishes for this December:

⛸️ Go ice skating

There’s something so nostalgic and whimsical about ice skating. I don’t care if I’m wobbling around like Bambi — it’s about laughing, feeling the cold air, and then warming up with a hot drink afterwards. Pure winter magic.

🍷 Host a gløgg & wine evening

This year, I want more small, intimate gatherings.
A gløgg (mulled wine) and cozy wine night with a few girlfriends — candles lit, soft jazz or Christmas piano in the background, warm snacks and honest conversations.
Just warmth and connection — nothing complicated.

🎄 Visit a Christmas market

Wandering through lights, sipping something warm, exploring handmade stalls, taking in the winter smells and festive music — Christmas markets always make me feel like a kid again. It’s one of my favorite December traditions.

🎬 Cozy movie date night (with Christmas soda!)

Soft blankets, fairy lights, cozy pajamas, and a Christmas movie — whether it’s with a boyfriend, familiy or a friend.

And yes… Christmas soda 😌’m not sure if this is a thing everywhere, but in Scandinavia we have a special holiday soda called julebrus that we only drink during the Christmas season. If you don’t have that where you live, you can choose any favorite festive drink — it’s really just about the tradition and the cozy feeling ✨

🧶 Crochet a small Christmas ornament

I love making things by hand, and this year I want to crochet a tiny Christmas ornament — maybe a heart or a star for the tree.
It doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to be mine — and handmade things always feel more special.

🎨 Paint a Christmas mug

A plain mug, some paint, winter designs, and then drinking hot chocolate from it the rest of the month.
I love simple traditions like this — gentle, creative, cozy.

🧩 Puzzle night

One quiet evening with a Christmas puzzle, tea, a candle burning, and calm music. No rush, no phone — just soft focus and presence. The perfect slow-winter activity.

🎧 Make a cozy December playlist

This year I want a playlist full of soft piano, classical Christmas songs, indie winter acoustic, and cozy jazz.
Music sets the tone — and I want December to sound warm, calm, and magical.

✍️ Christmas gratitude journaling

Instead of letting December rush by, I want to slow down and write a few things I’m grateful for each day — people, moments, tiny joys, lessons from the year.
It’s a grounding ritual that brings so much peace.
